Hardwood Floor Repair
Damaged Hardwood Floor Repair in DFW
Damaged boards, gaps, squeaks, and localized stains do not always require a full floor replacement. Dr. Floor provides targeted hardwood floor repair services throughout the DFW Metroplex — restoring your floor's appearance and structural integrity.
Types of Repair We Perform
Board Replacement
Damaged, cracked, or severely stained boards are carefully removed and replaced with matching material. We source matching species, width, and finish.
Gap Filling
Gaps between boards caused by seasonal movement or age are filled with flexible wood filler or rope filler, then sanded smooth.
Squeak Repair
Squeaking floors are usually caused by boards rubbing against each other or the subfloor. We identify the cause and apply the appropriate fix.
Pet Stain Repair
Deep pet urine stains that have penetrated the wood may require board replacement. Surface stains can often be addressed during refinishing.
Cupping and Buckling Repair
Boards that have cupped or buckled due to moisture are assessed for cause. After the moisture issue is resolved, we repair or replace affected boards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you match my existing hardwood for a repair?
In most cases, yes. We source matching species and width, and a full sand and refinish after the repair blends the new boards with the existing floor.
How do I know if I need repair or full replacement?
If the damage is localized to a few boards or a small area, repair is usually the right choice. If more than 30–40% of the floor is damaged, full replacement may be more cost-effective.
Can squeaky floors be fixed without replacing boards?
Often yes. We can inject adhesive between boards, drive screws through the subfloor, or apply talcum powder between boards depending on the cause of the squeak.
Will the repaired area match the rest of the floor?
A full sand and refinish after the repair is the best way to achieve a seamless match. Without refinishing, there may be a slight color difference between old and new boards.
Do you repair engineered hardwood floors?
Yes. We repair engineered hardwood using the same techniques as solid hardwood, with adjustments for the thinner veneer layer.
