What is the difference between LVP and LVT?
LVP (luxury vinyl plank) comes in plank shapes that mimic wood. LVT (luxury vinyl tile) comes in square or rectangular shapes that mimic stone or tile. Both are 100% waterproof.
Can LVP be installed over existing floors?
In many cases, yes. LVP can be floated over existing hard floors if they are flat, clean, and structurally sound. We assess your existing floor during the estimate.
How thick should LVP be?
We recommend a minimum of 6mm total thickness for residential use, with a wear layer of at least 12 mil for high-traffic areas. Thicker products (8–12mm) offer better sound absorption and feel more solid underfoot.
Is LVP good for DFW's climate?
Yes. LVP is dimensionally stable and handles DFW's humidity swings and temperature variations well, especially in rooms with direct sunlight.
Can LVP be installed on stairs?
